Lower Mainland Bengali Cultural Society of BC – LMBCS have been honored with the prestigious award for Best Sharadatsav from the Greatest Show on Earth- GSOE in association with Global Connect and Heritage Bengal Global.

The LMBCS bylaws were updated, and approved on January 16th, 2021 in a Special General Meeting held online in a Zoom call.

One of the key initiatives of EC 2018-19 was to broaden the scope of various LMBCS core operations to foster vision 2018-19 – Inclusion, Transparency and Celebration. Creation of various focus groups is one of such many innovative steps, which this team will undertake throughout the year to engage with the community.

The last EC has resumed the bursary that used to be given to the children of LMBCS members when they enrolled in a post-secondary institution.

Bangla school classes take place every other Sunday from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. The school is intended for children between 5 and 12 years of age. Interested parents do not have to be LMBCS members to enrol their children.

Shree is a decorative and essential part of almost all Bengali auspicious functions. This year during Durga Puja, LMBCS would like to showcase the Shree making talents of its adult members. Please join in the fun and make it a success.
